Is anyone interested in discussing the issue of roadworker safety?

I am thinking particularly of workers setting up temporary traffic management  or working within existing traffic management on major motorways or dual carriageways.

How can we reduce the risk? or is risk just a failed paradigm?

Any ideas welome ##

A few suggestions but not an endless list -

crossing live roads on foot

stopping on a live road to carry out work

informing the public

educating and understanding drivers

equipment or technology which may help

keeping workers off the road

...

Please do discuss any ideas you may have. I do have some thoughts but would like to hear other perceptions, ideas and solutions.
